ABC Showcased Its Premium Seeds
and Crop Care Line at Regional Vegetable Derbies
30 November 2022
Allied Botanical Corporation (ABC) partnered and participated with regional offices of the Department of Agriculture (DA) to showcase its top-of-the-line seed and crop care varieties to our local farmers.
DA San Jose in collaboration with ABC developed a Demo Gulayan to encourage farmers of the area and its nearby communities to explore more farming options aside from rice farming. Considering that the region is prone to natural disasters like typhoons and floods, discovering and practicing other farming alternatives will not only help alleviate effects of calamities but will improve their livelihood as well.
In celebration of the 1st Provincial Farmers Week of Iloilo City, INA Farmers Learning Site & Agri Farm Incorporated together with Industrial Marketing & General Merchandise organized a vegetable derby last November 26, 2022. Carrying the theme “Mangunguma padayon nga edukaron, hugpungon kag pabaskugon para agrikultura mangin mainuswagon,” (Continue to educate, gather, and strengthen the farmers for progressive agriculture), ABC did not miss the opportunity to participate and highlight its new farming technologies and lowland varieties to help improve our farmers’ livelihood.
To further advance agricultural growth, DA Region 11 through its High Value Crops Development Program (HVCDP) organized a vegetable derby which aims to strengthen the promotion and utilization of developmental information and technologies through deliberate, effective, and efficient ways of farming. During the harvest festival last November 30, 2022, farmers all over the region flocked to witness the diverse performance and characteristics of different vegetable varieties like ampalaya, squash, tomato, cucumber, red onion, and watermelon from different companies.
